The exact time depends on the area that is being treated; However, typically it takes from 20-30 minutes.No numbing cream is needed, Lumecca is minimal discomfort.
Does an IPL laser hurt?
The IPL is not considered a painful treatment, and the laser is very tolerable. During treatment, you may experience very mild discomfort. The sensation of the laser is similar to a slight snapping sensation with some heat. We ensure our patients are comfortable throughout the entire treatment.
When will I begin to see results after an IPL treatment?
Patients will begin to see results 7-10 days after an IPL laser treatment. Your hyperpigmentations will come to the surface and crust off. Full results can be seen after two weeks. Since the IPL stimulates new collagen, continual results will build up to 6 months after the initial treatment.

During your consultation your provider will make an assessment to ensure that you are the right candidate for an IPL laser treatment. Who is NOT a candidate for IPL laser?
An IPL laser treatment may not be safe for those with certain health problems. An IPL is not recommended for patients who are currently taking Accutane. Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding are not a candidate for Micro-needling. Patients with darker skin tones are not a candidate for an IPL laser treatment. You cannot do IPL if you have a tan or skin type 4 and Beyond.
